Shimla, state capital of Himachal Pradesh, also the erstwhile summer capital of the British in India, is a major hill resort in the country. It is a year-round holiday centre known for meadows, forests and handicrafts alike. In the lower range, it is surrounded by pine, oak and deodar forests.
It is a very popular place for shopping, sport and entertainment. Tourists poured in during this time just to get the feeling of snow. What an incredible view all round. The roofs of the houses and the vehicles are fully covered with snow as you can see.
Just to be seen to be believed !
These are some random shots clicked during the highest snowfall in 99 years.
The trees look like as if they are covered with pure white cotton. The roads get fully covered with snow which has to be shovelled to the side. These piles of snow whilst melting create very creative and interesting designs, analysing which is entirely left to our imagination.
