TVS sells 500,000 Jupiter scooters in 18 months


Hosur (Tamil Nadu), May 14 (IANS): Two-wheeler maker TVS Motor Company on Thursday said it has sold 500,000 units of its 110 cc scooter Jupiter in a span of 18 months, becoming the first scooter in India to reach this mark this fast.

"The fact that we have crossed this landmark in record time is testament to the fact that consumers are happy with the product's performance and quality. It will be our continued focus to delight our customers with consistent product innovation and introduction of freshness into the brand," the company's president and CEO, K.N. Radhakrishnan said in a statement.

The 110 cc scooter was launched in September 2013 as part of the company's plan to widen its portfolio.
