Amravathi, Jun 30: Telangana BJP MLA T Raja Singh on Monday tendered his resignation from the party’s primary membership, expressing strong disapproval over reports suggesting the appointment of senior leader Ramchander Rao as the state BJP president.
In a letter addressed to current Telangana BJP president G Kishan Reddy, Singh said the decision had left him and “lakhs of Karyakartas, leaders, and voters” shocked and disappointed.
“This is not just my disappointment — it reflects the sentiments of those who have stood by the BJP through thick and thin,” Singh wrote. He further added that the timing of this leadership change, when the party was on the verge of forming its first-ever government in Telangana, had raised “serious doubts about the direction we are heading.”

A three-time MLA known for his outspoken views, Singh voiced concern that the central leadership had been misled by individuals "driven by personal interests," sidelining grassroots efforts and hard-working leaders within the state unit.
“There are several capable MLAs, MPs, and senior leaders who have tirelessly strengthened the party in Telangana. Unfortunately, some are now orchestrating decisions from behind the scenes, undermining the party's collective efforts,” he alleged.
Stating that he could no longer remain silent or pretend everything was fine, Singh insisted his resignation was not about personal ambition but about the frustration and pain of loyal BJP supporters who feel ignored and betrayed.
He warned that the current direction of leadership risks undoing years of groundwork and could lead the party into unnecessary setbacks. “We had the best opportunity to form the government in Telangana. But instead of confidence, there is now growing disappointment — not because of the people, but due to decisions made at the top,” he wrote.
Singh concluded his letter with a formal request to Kishan Reddy to inform the Speaker of the Telangana Legislative Assembly that he no longer represents the BJP.
