Ajman, May 15: Students of 10th, 11th and 12th grades from all schools all over the country are invited to showcase project works, working models, posters apart from audio visual presentations during the two day event, ‘annual and medical science exhibition GMU MASE 2015’ scheduled to be held on May 20 and 21 at Gulf Medical University, Ajman. GMU MASE is held every year under the guidance of Thumbay Moideen, founder president, board of governors of the university and the active supervision of the academic leadership of all the constituent colleges of Gulf Medical University.

The university management rewards the students with cash prizes and recognizes their talents. The exhibition is set to break all previous records in terms of number of projects and attendance by school students. Over 200 projects including models and posters are expected this year. More than 4000 students are expected to visit the event, according to the organizing committee. Like last year, this year’s event includes a painting competition for the students. The visiting students will benefit from seeing live demonstration of dissection on cadavers in the anatomy lab, center for advanced simulation in healthcare, dental simulation lab, and anatomy and pathology museums.

Prof Mohamed Arifulla, dean admissions and registers said, “The main objective of the event is to provide a platform for the high school students to display their talents in the field of medicine and science and to provide them with complete career path. The event also encourages the students to get involved in the profession of medicine and healthcare and provides a fair chance to create a competitive environment for students to come out with excellent results. The exhibition provides tools for developing, organizing and supporting an assessment exhibition that allows students at the middle and high school levels to demonstrate their knowledge and skills in relation to science and technology."

The event will culminate with a prize distribution ceremony on May 21, where a lot of prizes will be given away to the winners in projects and poster categories. This year the cash prizes worth more than AED 25,000 are up for grabs. The projects will be judged by an expert panel consisting of faculty members from the university. There are special prizes given to schools with maximum participation.
