Mangaluru: J R Lobo asks HPCL to help dealer reopen petrol bunk

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (JS)

Mangaluru, May 15: Mangaluru South MLA J R Lobo on May 15 held a conciliatory meeting with the Hindustan Petroleum Company Limited (HPCL) officials and Prakash, the dealer who sat on dharna in front of HPCL office here alleging 'discrimination' and 'unjust treatment' by the company.

Briefing on the conciliation meeting, J R Lobo said, "It came to my notice that Prakash who runs a petrol pump in Mudigere has been done injustice by HPCL. A person named Dasharath has taken petroleum products of Rs 25 lacs on credit. But Prakash says he does not have any connection with Dashrath and he does not owe any amount to HPCL.

"Today when I visited the place where Prakash is sitting on dharna, he narrated his story, and after listening to the entire version, at the outset, it looks like some injustice has been done to Prakash. To resolve the issue, I called a conciliation meeting with HPCL. Since the family is bankrupt and is not in a position to pay the amount, I have suggested HPCL to give 8 KL diesel and 4 KL petrol on credit by taking all the necessary collateral, so that at least he can reopen the petrol pump. As they cannot take action on their own since they have some limitations, I have asked them to write to the higher officials by referring the proceedings of this meeting and my suggestion, so that this problem can be solved," he said.

"I will write to the central vigilance commission to investigate the alleged cheating, so that action is taken against the guilty. The central government under the leadership of Rajiv Gandhi had given this SC/ST dealership scheme to the backward community and this should not be misused in any way. I have asked him to withdraw the dharna temporarily until HPCL's higher officials take a decision."

Asha D'Silva, corporator, Vishwas Das, Arun Coello, T K Sudhir and others were present.

Is this a coverup of any anomalies done to Prakash. If in case Dashrath is, as stated by Prakash in the earlier report, a politically connected person, Mr.Lobo is trying to cover him up by showing compassion towards Prakash.
Remenber, Our Mr.Moily was the Oil Minister in UPA government. All such things of adjustments were happening for last many years. Now that the victims are coming out in the open. My suggestion to Mr Lobo, dont try to coverup the scams of UPA, you may lose your credibility.

Good gesture. I do not think any of the previous MLA's would have done this.
J R Lobo has indeed got the right inclination to help in the matter which should be sincerely appreciated.

HELP THE HELPLESS. This is J.R. Lobo's concept. This is indeed a wonderful gesture on his part. Hope Hindustan Petroleum will help this man to continue his business.

What is more important is TO KEEP MIDDLEMEN OUT.

It appears you can't digest our honorable MLA's good work here.
MLA is correct in all respect here by drawing the attention of CVC to find the truth and deliver justice.
The later part of suggestion reflect degenerated mindset.

Being problems are huge and vast, it is impossible to help individuals.
Instead think of a change which can make a world of difference.

Peddu, dont always speak like a peddu, At least Mr lobo is going out of the way to address his grievences, others would not even have acknowledged this mans grief. You thrive in finding fault for no reason. This is because of jealousy & envy, but Mr Lobo will continue to work for the welfare of the people ,as is his nature , As far as getting credit , he need not do all this to gain publicity. His outstanding work is credit enough . I know you are & the rest of the nonsecular are burning with envy

Good Job MLA Mr J.R. Lobo. Why can't all other MLA/MP's do this kind of job and win people's confidence and gain votes instead of doing all negative ways of gaining votes and bringing bad name to thier party????.

    Lobomaam,

If Prakash says Dasharath cheated him Rs 25 lakh's...why don't you ask Prakash to file a complaint with Police...and ask Police to recover the amount and pay it to HCPL....and solve the whole problem for ever?

Writing off Rs 25 lakh with a central Government undertaking is not very easy task...I am sure being a former Government servant , you know that very well...
