Modi reaches Mongolia in first-ever visit by an Indian PM

Ulan Bator, May 16 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday landed here in the Mongolian capital, in the first-ever visit by an Indian prime minister.

Modi arrived here from Shanghai after concluding a three-day visit to China that also took him to Beijing and Xi'an.

Mongolia, a landlocked country between China and Russia, has a population of over 2.9 million. More than half of the population follow Buddhism, and about three percent follow Islam and 2.2 percent Christianity, while 2.9 percent are Shamanist.

With a land area slightly smaller than Alaska, it has a density of around 1.7 people per square km - among the lowest population densities among independent countries.

Mongolia is nicknamed the "Land of Blue Skies", as it has around 250 sunny days.

India has close ties with Mongolia from centuries.

While Buddhism was spread to Mongolia by Ashoka and his disciples, Mughal emperor Babur was a descendent of Genghis Khan, founder of the Mongol empire.

Modi will spend Sunday in Mongolia.

Modi would start his day by presenting a sapling of the Bodhi tree to the chief abbot of the Gandan Monastery in Ulan Bator.

He will meet Mongolian Prime Minister Chimed Saikhanbileg for talks after which many agreements are to be inked.

He will address the Mongolian parliament, which will be opened on a holiday, in a special gesture.

Modi will also meet the speaker of the Mongolian parliament.

He will meet President Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj and attend a banquet lunch in his honour.

Modi will later lay the foundation stone for an IT centre and attend a mini Naadam festival - a national sporting festival and watch wrestling, archery and horse racing events in an open arena.

Modi will also address a community reception and banquet in Ulan Bator.

Guys.. Mongolia visit is a great landmark for India for the following reason -

    1. Mangolia has kept better relationship from last 40 years with India than US
    2. From Geologial survey'sM, Mangolia has deposits of lot of Minerals and precious metals. If explored, it can be another Saudi Arabia in terms of metals reserve
    3. Strategical partner in case if we have a War with China tomorrow. Possibility of having military base in Mangolia

Some people cannot see the growing popularity of our prime minister. No one can do magic within a year. But surely what congress couldn't do till date. Modiji has accomplished it in a year. Shame on people who degrade the prime minister.

Some people in this forum, even didn't known earlier whether country like 'mongolia' in this world.
Credit goes to Modiji for introducing all the countries to Indians.
Keeping relationship with one and all is good for the nation to build 'economy'.
Earlier prime ministers are only busy in accumulating a 'huge wealth' with various 'scams'.
No where seen any development. With all the countries India didn't had good relationship in the past.
Now head of all the nation is inviting Modiji breaking so called the 'protocol'.
A small lad selling 'tea' rose to such heights..is none other than 'blessing from the god'.

Adani has the world's 3 largest coal company, and everyone knows he is trying to source coal imports into India thro' modibhai
BTW, coal is the most polluting fossil fuel out of all fuels, and the greenhouse gases generated thro' coal burning, will only make and change our climate for the worse..that is why Greenpeace and other NGOs who are against climate change and burning of fossil fuels like coal, have been thrown out of india...at Adani's insistence.

PM visit to Mongolia being the first is to break the deadlock that Adani is facing due to block of Hydel and Power Project. Dear Adani, Mongolia is not Gujarat where you can flout rules but it is a buddhist country. Buddhist love their nature and their environment and at any cost will protect them and you are good in destroying environment which you have done in Gujarat. PM has done nothing in India for last 1 year and what he can do in Mongolia. For last 1 year in India Rupee is falling, prices are rising, Farmers are crying, share prices are falling and PM is flying. The Mongolian people will revolt against Adani Project. PM as CM in Gujarat has broken all norms to develop gujarat even to the extent of photoshopping growth.

ಯಾರ್ದೋ ದುಡ್ಡು ಯಲ್ಲಮ್ಮನ ಜಾತ್ರೆ  and what about Shaadi Bhagya Scheme (ಶಾದಿ ಭಾಗ್ಯ ) for only Muslims and hajj subsidy. It is from money collected from Hindu Temples and ದುಡ್ಡು collected from ಯಲ್ಲಮ್ಮನ ಜಾತ್ರೆ . Did you ever spoke about the temple money diverted for Shadi Bhagya and haj subsidy. Hindus are now aware of a deamon called "secular".
