Janet Jackson set for world tour

Los Angeles, May 17 (IANS): Singer Janet Jackson has promised her fans "new music, new world tour" this year.

The singer, sister of late pop star Michael Jackson, tweeted a video at early Saturday morning, but what could have started as a simple acknowledgment of her birthday quickly turned into a present for her fans. The video showed footage of the inside of a studio, reports eonline.com.

"I promised you'd hear it from my lips, and now you will," Janet said in the narration.

"This year: new music, new world tour, a new movement."

She was living such a low-key life since marrying billionaire Wissam Al Mana in 2012 that fans started making mock-up missing posters for the "All for You" hitmaker.

Although they started as a harmless prank, Janet caught wind of the posters and called them "too funny, too sweet" on Twitter. But her acknowledgment only made fans beg harder for new music from the 49-year-old singer.
