Mangaluru, May 18:  A doctor has complained to the Suratkal police station regarding dowry harassment.

Dr Salma Fazina from Chokkabettu, Krishnapura is the complainant.

In her complaint to the police, the doctor has stated that she had married K M Nissam, son of K Sulaiman,  a resident of Gangolli in Kundapur taluk on August 21 last year. She had given 45 sovereigns of gold as dowry during the wedding.

The newly wedded husband started demanding for more dowry in the next 10 days of the wedding. Later Nissam went abroad but the harassment did not stop. Nissam’s sister Nishath, with the help of her husband, continued the harassment, Dr Salma alleges in the complaint.

Dr Salma also says that her husband was making preparations for another marriage.
