Mangaluru: Maa Creations to present 'Ghall Tum Nadar' concert on May 24

Mangaluru, May 19: Maa Creations, Mangaluru is all set to present 'Ghall Tum Nadar' musical concert on Sunday, May 24 at St Sebastian Church hall in Bendore.

This is a rare musical event in Konkani with the nite being named after a theme song. ‘Ghall Tum Nadar’ is the theme song (meaning ‘Have a look’) which sends a strong message on world peace.

Golden voice of Konkani Rony D’Cunha (who will fly specifically for the concert), Global Konkani best singer award winner Anitha D'Souza, veteran singer Rony Crasta, youth sensations Prajoth D’Sa and Jacqueline Fernandes are going to render their voices during the concert.

Music will be provided by Pappan and Joswin duo while sitar player Ustad Rafiq Khan will provide a treat of fusion music.

Popular TV host of Daijiworld 24x7 and ace master of ceremony Leslie Rego will compere the programme.

All the fourteen songs to be sung in the concert have been penned by Arthur Pereira Omzoor.

J R Lobo, MLA of Mangaluru South constituency will preside overthe brief stage function and Walter Nandalike, editor-in-chief of Daijiworld Media will be the chief guest. Eric Ozario, Gurkar of Mandd Sobhann, eentrepreneur and singer Joseph Mathias, NRI businessman Elias Sanctis, Elias Fernandes of Four Winds will grace the show as guests of honour. The stage function before the nite is of a short duration.

Special attractions

A jugalbandi by Jacqueline Fernandes with vocals and Ustad Rafiq Khan on sitar will be a special attraction of the nite.

Four musicians tuning the songs of a musical nite by a single lyricist is a rare event in Konkani. The songs have been tuned by Vijay Noronha, Cajethan Dias, Vincent Fernandes Cascia and Raviraj Tanthri.

Maa Creations is a voluntary organization started to promote Konkani and Tulu languages and cultures. Maa Creations has been working selflessly to achieve its goals with Allan Pereira as its present convenor.

In addition to many poetry sessions and cultural events in Dubai, Maa creations held Konkani Sobhann, a mega event in 2014.

Arthur Pereira Omzoor, a noted lyricist, is the winner of Desert Konkani best lyricist award. He has penned lyrics for many CDs including 'Hello Deva' 'Taram' in Konkani and 'Pani Pani Barsa' in Tulu presented by Maa Creations. His lyrics were also used for the Konkani film 'Kazar'.
