Mumbai, May 21: Sri Niranjana Swamy, a refined spiritual guide and ardent educationist hailing from Dakshina Kannada district, breathed his last in Mumbai on Wednesday May 20. He was 84.

He had great contribution to society, I am one of his Polytechnic college
student, passed out in year 2000. I still remember that day when I did not get admission in
govt Polytechnic and I had only option left with Niranjnana Swamy Polytechnic as we could not afford other private colleges.

Shree Niranjana Swamy was humanitarian kind. He has highly contributed to the field of education. Free Education is given to the poor in his institutions. He is an architect of sunkadakatte. Today sunkadakatte is famous because of him. Sunkadaktte means Niranjana swamy and Niranjana swamy means sunkadakatte. As an uneducated man being a source of inspiration and spiritual guide for the younger generation of the society. He was bowl of rice for many and helping hand of the needy. Niranjana Swamy was one of the greatest Souls I ever met in my life. We were the first batch students of his Polytechnic and I am grateful to him for whatever I am today. I had very close contact with him in my student days. Even though he is from poor family with very less education, he was the real SWAMY I met in my life. The greatest quality I found in him was he never discriminated people based on caste and religion. May his soul rest in peace...
