Modi government restored dignity of PMO: Amit Shah

New Delhi, May 21 (IANS): The Narendra Modi government has restored the dignity of prime minister's office and has given a government that is visible, BJP president Amit Shah said on Thursday.

"We have changed the atmosphere since this government has come to power. We have made new beginnings in every sector," Shah said at 'Manthan' conclave organised by news channel Aaj Tak.

"This is a visible and decisive government. Whether it is flood in Kashmir, earthquake in Nepal, of some fishermen are sentenced to death in Sri Lanka, this govrnment is visible... Modi has given a government that is visible," he said.

"In UPA, every one was PM, but no one considered the PM to be PM," he quipped.

"We have restored the dignity of the prime minister's office," he said.

Shah said that in one year, the Bharatiya Janata Party has given the nation corruption free governance.

"I want to say with pride, our government has been transparent in one year... even opposition can't blame us of corruption," he said.

On the controversial land bill, he said it is not against farmers.

"We believe the bill is not anti-farmer," he said.

"If it is not right, people will decide (during elections)," he said.
