One held for courier firm owner's murder in Delhi


New Delhi, May 21 (IANS): Oone of the four people who beat to death a man, who ran a courier company, in the capital's Connaught Place Tuesday night has been arrested, a Delhi Police official said on Wednesday.

Sunny Saimon, 27, a resident of Shankar Market area, was arrested from east Delhi's Vivek Vihar for killing Biju Varghese on Tuesday night.

Saimon, a driver by profession, confessed that he and his associates Satish, Saurav and Babu beat up Varghese to death after a quarrel in Shankar Market, police said.

"Saimon hit the deceased with a helmet on his head with the intention to kill him. The investigation of the case is in progress to ascertain the real motive behind the crime," said Deputy Commissioner of Police Ajay Kumar.

"Saimon's other associates are still on the run," he added.

Police said Varghese, who hailed from Kerala, was staying in Chilla village in east Delhi with his family and used to run a courier company.
