Kasargod: Five members of a family mysteriously go missing

Kasargod, May 22: In an incident which occurred at Kumbdaje Balekkala near Badiyadka in the district, five members of a single family including two small children, have gone missing.

The identities of the missing people have been given as Prema (20), daughter of Bhatya Naik - Chandravati couple, her husband, Uday (30), a native of Badiyadka Kuntalumoole, the couple's children, Srijit (4) and Sangeeta (2), as well as Ramya (15), sister of Prema. All of them were staying together in a single house in Balekkala.

Ramya, a student of Katukukke school, had passed SSLC this year with high marks. When she went to school to collect certificate on May 14, Prema had accompanied her along with daughter, Sangeeta, it is gathered. The three, who left home for school, never returned home thereafter. Later, Prema's husband left home with child, Srijit, in the guise of searching for the missing members of his family. They too did not come back.

Mother of Prema, Chandravati, in a complaint filed in Badiyadka station, said that these five people went missing unexpectedly and mysteriously. The cell phones of these missing persons were found to have been switched off. Badiyadka police have registered a missing case and begun investigation.
