Karkala, Apr 6: Miscareats reportedly broke into the house of K Krishna near Vinayakabettu temple around noon on Thursday, April 5 and decamped with cash and valuables worth Rs 6.2 lac.
The missing value is made of gold jewellery worth Rs 5.7 lac and Rs 50,000 in cash.
The housewife had locked the house around noon and gone out on work. When she returned the theft came to light. What has puzzled the police and neighbours is the fact that the house is located in the middle of several other houses. Without the neighbours' knowledge and attention, the miscreants have managed to break open the house and loot the valuables.
No clues are available at the spot of theft. The police are following up the case.
