Car falls into gorge - three occupants suffer serious injuries

Mangaluru, May 23: After the driver of a Tata Nano car lost control over the vehicle when negotiating the road leading from Lord Chandramoulishwara Temple to national highway at Kolnadu in Mulky on Friday, the car rolled down a roadside gorge. As the car tumbled into a 20-feet gorge, all the three occupants of the car including the driver suffered serious injuries including fractures, it is learnt. The car was also badly damaged.

It is said that the car was speeding at the time. Those in the car, who are from Bengaluru, were returning towards Mangaluru after taking part in a function organized in the house of a relative, when this accident occurred. The trio visited the said temple and paid obeisance to the Lord. The driver lost control over the vehicle when the car was returning from the temple to join the highway.

Car driver, Ravi, and passengers, Seetaram Acharya and Janardan Acharya brothers, stand admitted into a hospital in the city. A case stands registered at Suratkal police station relating to this accident.
