Mangaluru, May 23: “Gram Panchayat (GP) elections will be in favour of BJP", said former MLC Monappa Bhandary in a press meet held at district BJP office, here on Saturday may 23.

“In maximum unopposed seats, BJP candidates have been chosen. District minister, in a press meet, has lied to the people and he is misleading the rural people. He claims that all the developmental projects were brought by him but the reality is different. The project of two colleges was brought by former minister, Nagaraj Shetty and grant was also brought by him. The inaugurations were done by Ramanatha Rai”.

Taking a dig on two years of Congress rule in state, he said, “Congress conducted a success meet after two years of administration in the state. During the meet, they only blamed BJP's union government and did not explain anything about what they have done in the past two years”.

“Ivan D'souza conducts a press meet and he says that form no 9 has been simplified but no changes can be seen. In Belthangady, we have got 15 seats unopposed, Moodbidri 6 seats, Sullia 19 seats, Mangaluru North 1 seat and Mangaluru Rural 16 seats”.

Vikas Puttur, national secretary, Yuva Morcha and Chandrashekar Uchill were present at the press meet.
