Puttur: People assault car driver for causing accident

Puttur, May 25: The people assaulted the driver of a Scorpio car for causing accident at Periyashanthi near Uppinangadi on Sunday, May 24 afternoon.

Charles is the driver who was driving the Scorpio car. He has been admitted to Puttur government hospital with injuries.

The Scorpio car was coming from Bengaluru. It was on its way to Dharmastala from Subramanya. It hit a bike on the way which injured the rider Navin and pillion rider Chetan. Both were rushed to Puttur hospital.

When the police arrived at the place of the accident , the driver of the Scorpio car Charles was seen being assaulted by the local people. The police who pacified the situation took Charles to hospital by 108 ambulance.

A case has been booked against Charles for careless driving and for over speeding at Puttur traffic police station.

Charles has also lodged a complaint at Uppinangadi police station for assault on him. He has produced video clips recorded in a mobile phone as evidence for the same.

    Here FEKU not involved but FEKU's CHADDI's are involved. It is clearly Chaddis, who saw some religious objects in the car thereafter they thoughts taking the advantage of the accident, it is surely bike riders were on the wrong side/ fault.

    When there is no Third Party Insurance exit, I think people decided to settle it as third party treatment. Though many intellectuals would say they people taking the law in their hands but based on the recent court judgements, I think this is the best judgement of the day

    In our location as long as people like you around it depends who was driving the car and to whom they hit….. If people like GM or Dev roaming around or driving….accidents is bound to happen because of their body language and mind set!!!!

    Is it so? In dubai you do like that only? Do you have car there or just talking? Police is there to control all kind of crimes and offences, who gave the right to public beat anyone and that is also in accidents. If it is hit and run case then also agreed. As rajesh said above in one comment it is targetting minority nothing else.
