Kundapur, May 26: A young boy who was sitting on the rear seat of a bicycle died, while the other one who was in the saddle suffered critical injuries, after a mini bus hit their bicycle at Koni near here late night on Monday May 25.

Ranjeeth (9), a second standard student of Venkataramana English Medium School here, was the unfortunate victim of this accident. Mithun (16), who was riding the bicycle, suffered serious injuries and is being treated in a hospital in Manipal.

Mithun and Ranjeeth, both residents of Hangaluru here, had been to the home of their relatives at Moodlakatte on Monday. They were returning to their homes when a mini bus owned by a person named Thimma Billava hit their bicycle. Ranjeeth, who sustained terrible head injuries, died on the spot. The nature of injuries suffered by Mithun too are grave in nature. He is fighting for his life at the said hospital.

Ranjeeth's parents hail from Nepal. They had found work here, and had settled down at Hangalur. In spite of being poor, both the parents ardently desired to give good education to their son but fate had something else in store for this poor boy.
