Two killed in shooting at US departmental store


Washington, May 26 (IANS): At least two people were killed and several others injured on Tuesday in a shooting incident at a Walmart departmental store in the US state of North Dakota, a media report said.

Although police did not release any details of the shooter, they announced they did not believe there was any risk to the general public, CBS News reported.

Officials at the US Air Force Base in Grand Forks city said an airman was involved in the shooting, according to the report.

Police responded to reports of gunshots at the store a few minutes after 1 a.m. The store's website says it is open 24 hours.

Police secured a car in the parking lot about 4.15 a.m., and officers used a robot to search it, according to media reports.

The identity of the victims has not been made public.
