Woman Gives Birth on Tracks After Husband Allegedly Throws Her Off train

Raigada,May 27 (NDTV): A pregnant woman delivered a stillborn child after being thrown off a running train, allegedly by her husband, in Odisha's Raigada district.
From her bed in a local hospital, the woman told NDTV the horror story that had unfolded in the early hours of the morning.

"My husband was talking to another woman passenger and I had objected to it," she said. Her husband, Suraj Kerketa, had been enraged.

Around 4 am, she said, he woke her up and took her to the door. "Then he pushed me out of the running Koraput Express," she said.

At the time, the train had just left the Rauli station, but few noticed the accident. The woman lay on the tracks, where she gave birth to a stillborn child. But she said she does not remember it.

Later, the Government Railway Police rescued her and took her to the local hospital, where she is undergoing treatment.

A manhunt is on for Mr Karketa, who is absconding.
