Gulf Medical College launches International Health Magazine in India
 

Ajman, Apr 12: Gulf Medical College which successfully publishes the HEALTH Journal for the last nine years has expanded its reach to the Indian readers by launching its India edition in Mumbai at a glittering function on the 8th of April 2007. Mr. Shah Rukh Khan, the super star of Bollywood launched the magazine at a function held in Hotel Taj Lands End in Mumbai. Over 300 guests comprising who’s who of healthcare fraternity and celebrities from film industry attended the function. His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Majid Bin Saeed Al Nuaimi, Chairman, Ruler’s Court Ajman was the Guest of Honor at the function.

Health Journal is owned by Health International, a subsidiary of Thumbay Group-UAE, which is headed by Mr. Thumbay Moideen, the Group President. In his speech, Mr. Moideen mentioned that the HEALTH magazine is a first of its kind magazine which encompasses health, wellness and lifestyle issues. The magazine is published by Mr. Rauf Ahmed, a senior journalist, who has over three decades of experience in this field. He is the former editor of famous magazines like Filmfare and Movie.

The magazine, which comes out every month, is packed with 100 pages of authoritative articles on health and lifestyle. The magazine will grow to be a 200 page issue soon, said Rauf Ahmed, who exudes full confidence in making the publication as one of the niche health magazines in the market.

The UAE edition GMC Health Journal comes as a bilingual, bimonthly magazine, and is in tie-up with internationally renowned institutions like Mayo Clinic, Johns Hopkins, Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, International Hospital Federation, apart from the Ministry of Health and Abu Dhabi Health Authorities, who contribute regular columns in each issue of the magazine.
