Doha, May 30: Mangalore Friends, Qatar lead by Abdul Sathar Madaka Hakim Madoor, Sharif Madaka organized a first of its kind 3rd underarm Fed light cricket tournament at Old Ideal Indian School on May 29.
A total of 10 teams participated in the tournament like Mangalore friends, Faringipet friends, Fashion line friends, Kaikamba friends, Hannan, Doha friends, Qatar Friends, QSFI Friends, Luqta Friends and Uppala Friends all matches played in knock out.
Each match played a 5 overs match. For the opening ceremony philanthropist and main sponsor Ravishetty Abduala Monu, Daijiworld director Alexis Castelino, M Pallonji Qatar general manager Chidanda naik, KTWA president Asmath Ali and past TQ president Setharam Shetty were guests of the evening. All the guests were welcomed with flower bouquets by Mangalore Friends Qatar.
Addressing the gathering, Ravi Shetty and Abdul Monu appreciated the efforts of Abdul Sathar Madaka and team. They also wished all the participants. During the short stage programme Ravi Shetty, Abdul Monu, Asmath Ali and Alexis Castelino were felicitated for their service and support.
The final match was played between a popular team in Qatar, Hannan vs Kaikamba Friends. Batting first Kaikamba Friends scored 24 runs in the allotted overs. Chasing the target Hannan scored 25 runs without any hurdles.
The commentry was by Achchu and Chammi while the umpires were Ansar and Salim. Faizal and Munir kept the scores.
