Puttur, May 31: The thieves who steal cows from various places must have found easier to steal from Goshala, a protective shelter for cows. On the night of Friday May 29, they stole a cow from Goshala managed by Southlake Sri Maha Ganapathi temple.
It is said that the thieves came in a Tata Sumo vehicle and parked it near the main entrance of the Goshala besides Anganwady. Then they managed to enter the Goshala and took a cow forcibly with the aid of a rope. The watchman of the Goshala could not do anything as the thieves carried machetes.
The gang of three persons also threatened Vishwanath Shetty, the resident of the same area, who came out by hearing the sound of the vehicle. They exhibited the machetes to Shetty.
This Goshala looks after more than 150 cows. The theft has disturbed the security in the surrounding areas.
Uppinangadi police have registered the case.
