Mangaluru, Jun 1: An under-trial lodged in the district sub-jail here has been named in a complaint filed in Barke station by a policeman who escorted him to the court.

Safwan, an under-trial, was produced in the third JMFC court here by a team of police personnel comprising policeman, Issac, CAR constable, Chandrashekhar, constable Basavaraj and driver, Diwakar Shetty, along some other staff of city crime bureau, under instructions from higher officials.

After Safwan was produced in the court, the court had adjourned the case to a next date. Thereafter, he was taken back to the district jail. Before alighting from the vehicle, Safwan reportedly addressed Issac, accusing him of being arrogant. He is said to have threatened Issac that the former would not spare him after release from the jail, and that Issac would be finished off. It is said that Safwan, besides using abusive words and posing life threat to Issac, also jostled him around by holding the collar of the uniform he was wearing.

The case also alleges that Safwan had obstructed Issac from discharging government duty.
