Belthangady, Jun 2: An accident related to a mobile phone call has ended in a death of a woman near Belthangady.
Pushpavathi (32) from Govinduru is the person deceased.
As per details, Pushpavathi received a call on May 22 when she was in the kitchen. When she finished her call she had forgotten that she had switched on the gas stove burner when the mobile phone had rung. She had forgotten to light the stove because of the mobile ring.
Once her call was over, she switched on the other burner and lighted the stove completely forgetting that other burner was on. The gas released by the other burner was already in the air. When the fire was ignited in the burner, it spread the whole kitchen because of the gas already in the air. The sudden fire did not spare Pushpavathi. She was admitted to hospital with major burns.
On late Sunday May 31 late night, Pushpavathi breathed her last without responding to treatment.
Pushpavathi is survived by husband and two children. Her husband Achyutha Gowda works for a vehicle service centre in Mangaluru city.
