DK cooperative milk producers’ union observes World Milk Day

Mangaluru, Jun 2: The DK district cooperative milk producers’ union limited observed World Milk Day at KMF, Kulshekar on Monday June 1.














The event began with the invocation and lighting of the lamp.

K Sitaram Rai, director of the union welcomed the guests with flowers.

Addressing the gathering, Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said, "Keeping in mind the economic growth of the producers and dealers cooperative firms are growing in the city. KMF has maintained the quality of all their milk products from the beginning. It is good that profit is distributed to the farmers. KMF has done the job of uniting the producers, dealers and consumers. I wish DK district cooperative milk producers’ union all the success and when the farmer of the nation is happy, the nation is happy."

BJP MLC Ganesh Karnik, chief whip of the party in the legislative council speaking on the occasion said, "It is good that we are producing enough milk for the district and that we will soon reach a stage of self-sufficiency. However, we have to improve the quality of technology used for milk production and we have to put in efforts towards improving the quality of the milk as the quality is lower than international standard. We also have to find a solution for reducing the cost of production and for providing a solution for the problems of the producers, dealers and consumers."

The union also honoured the Nandini milk dealers and distributors for their achievements.

Raviraj Hegde president DK district cooperative milk producers’ union presided over the event.

M N Rajendra Kumar president of South Canara District Central Cooperative Bank, mayor of the city Jacinta Alfred and others were present at the occasion.
