Mangaluru: Two rob scooter rider at gun point near Nandigudda

Mangaluru, Jun 3: In an incident which occurred near Nandigudda in the city on the night of Monday June 1, two unidentified youngsters riding a two-wheeler robbed a person who was riding on a scooter alone. The robbers succeeded in snatching away Rs 22,000 in cash from the scooterist, identified as Muhammed Parvez, apart from a golden ring valued at about Rs 5,000.

The victim of this incident, Parvez, working in the office of a company located at Kankanady, was going home in his scooter via Nandigudda main road. When he was nearing the bend from where an asphalted road leads to his home, two persons who came in a two-wheeler at around 8.30 pm blocked his scooter by stopping their vehicle across his path. One of the men brandished a knife and ordered Parvez to open the box of his scooter. When he refused, the men tried to assault him. They opened the seat, collected Rs 22,000 kept in a plastic cover as well a ring from him, and escaped in their motor bike, Parvez said in his complaint.

Policemen of city (south) station have registered a case and have set the investigation rolling.
