Girl, parents, face acid attack for declining marriage proposal

Kasargod, Jun 3: A youth who was in love with a girl from Hosdurg here reportedly threw acid at the girl and her parents, injuring them seriously. He was livid at the fact that they had declined his proposal to marry the girl. The youth illegally gatecrashed into the house of the girl and sprayed acid on her and her parents before fleeing, it is gathered.

Raji (19), resident of Ranipura in Hosdurg taluk, her father, Gangadhar Naik, and mother, Radha, suffered injuries in this attack. While Raji and Radha were admitted into the district hospital, Gangadhar was shifted to Pariyaram Medical College Hospital for treatment.

Relating to the incident, a case was registered against Ramesh from Ranipura in Rajapuram police station. The accused has gone into hiding. The policemen have begun a hunt for the accused.
