The Governor made the state government spend Rs 40 lakhs for doing the interiors in his chamber and ADC's chambers, Rs 30 lakh for the interiors in the offices of OSD, private secretary and main lounge, as per a Times Of India report.

A sum of Rs 25 lakhs was spent on alterations at telephone exchange, computer section, dispensary and university section in Raj Bhavan.

Asphalting internal roads and providing kerbs at the front has cost the government Rs 35 lakh.

Renovation work in the kitchen, dining hall and bathroom of the governor has been done for Rs 50 lakhs.

    Vikram,
I am sure Modi is smarter than you and he will stop giving things for free like Haj Subsidy. Our community needs education and that is the only way my community and country will improve.I am personally against any kind of subsidy for religious pilgrimage or religious institutions.

By the way, I and my family do not want anything free from either State or Central government. So your assumption that we want everything is logically wrong and I request you to spend some time in introspection before you make such blanket statements.

Here the point is a government official is spending tax payers money lavishly, which as a tax payer i am taking strong objection to.

Earlier UPA government allotted five sprawling bungalows to Mayawati in Delhi as a gift.

It's even six times bigger than the main chamber of the Lok Sabha in Parliament House.

    Ashok Shetty,
Yesterday it was reported in the times of India Bangalore edition, that former Governor has spent only RS.72 lakh between 2009 & 2012.Our present Governor spent RS.2.3 crores on renovation & another 1.3 crore on Chartered flights for 9 months. Today in times reported that Governor has purchased a LG 84 inch TV for RS.15 lakh whereas outside market it is available for RS.12 lakh. More over our Governors having high end fleet of Mercedes & BMW cars at their disposal. This Bhavan spread across 17 acres of land having 61 staff quarters & 300 staff. Initially this Bhavan was built by Sir Mark Cubbon during 1834/1861,using his personal funds. Now dear readers, please tell us whether British or Indians are better in protecting tax payers money.

It is un-reasonable to spend so much of tax payers money for lavish & posh offices and homes, for Govt officials. Where required to spend would be acceptable. When it is some one else's money & not one's own hard earned money, spending like this is much easier than spending his own money. Let these Govt officials, Bureaucrats be made to pay from their own pockets for flights after certain number of free flights allowed. Let us wait n watch how many will charter flights, how many will travel 01st Class & Business class, when it is their own money.!!
Come on officials, be practical and spend this money on worthwhile projects, for poor children's education, basic needs to remote villagers etc. Look at those poor farmers dying and committing suicide, because of misery in life, pay them their due compensation, stop looting people in the disguise of holding big posts in Govts.
Have a Humane Conscious and be practical in thinking and spending. If only our politicians wasted money be used for poor people, we would have had less percentage of BPL ( Below Poverty Level ) people in our Country.
Wake up Politicians from your slumbers.!!!

Farmers struggles when there is flood and rains, also no good prices for food he grows. Middle class die between their aspirations of better life and hard working conditions. Political parties sells them a dream. Someone who gets their votes making them believe they will be better of, makes a lavish living, on their hard earned money. Raj Bhavan is already a lavish house, with servants, security and all lavish fittings yet these politicians have to find some fault and make some money through renovation ideas.

It seems our Governor lives in a palace of 17 acres of land. Our 30 crore people in India r living in dire poverty & go to bed every night without a proper meal & water to drink. Millions of people r still living in the slums, huts & foot paths . This is what we have achieved after 68 years of gaining independence.

Simply to pamper the veteran politicians, the Governor job is established and every political party shows favor to their old politicians through burning the pockets of the tax-payers. Who cares for the millions who are hungry and committing suicide?
