Dubai, Jun 7: Patla Satish Shetty, a renowned Yakshagana 'Bhagavata' of Kateelu Mela, who has fans all over the world for his mesmerising voice, has arrived in Dubai.
Patla is due to render his for Yakshagana ‘Manikanta Mahime Rathikalyana' on June 12 at Indian High School auditorium, Dubai. The play, to be presented by Yakshamitraru in collaboration with Blueberry International Events, starts at 5pm.
He was welcomed by Chidananda Poojary, an artiste par excellenance himself, and key member of Yakshamitraru, on Saturday June 7 night at Dubai International Airport.
Along with him, Chaitanya Padyana, Akshaya Kumar, Laxman Kumar and Gangadar Shettigar were also accorded a warm wlecome at Dubai International Airport.
The organizers have informed that 'Manikanta Mahime Rathikalyana' will be played on Friday, June 12 at 5 pm at Sheikh Rasheed Auditorium, Indian High School in Dubai. The gates will be open at 4 pm.
Bhagavathike (recital of songs) will be done by Patla Satish Shetty and Chende (traditional drums) will be played by Chaitanya Padyana. Akshay Kumar and Lakshman Kumar Marakada will play special roles while Gangadhar D Shettigar will be in charge of costumes and makeup of the Yakshagana.
Entry ticket is priced at Dhs 30.
