Mangaluru: Jewellery worth Rs 11 lac stolen from parked car at Panambur

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (RJP)

Mangaluru, Jun 9: The thieves have run away with jewellery worth Rs 11 lac after they managed to break the rear window glass of the Innova car parked at Panambur beach.

The incident happened on Sunday, Jun 7 when the beach was crowded with visitors.

Some tourists who were on a state tour, had come to the Panambur beach from Bengaluru in the Innova car. After parking the car at the beach, they ventured into sea for a leisure time. When they came back to the car, they were horrified to find out that the bag kept in the car, which contained the jewellery was missing. Then they came to know that the rear window glass of the car was broken.

The stolen items included necklace, bangles, chains and other gold items weighing around 520 grams. Immediately a police complaint was lodged at Panambur police station. When the police came to the site, no clues or any suspicious persons could be found.

It is suspected that the thieves must have seen the women taking out their jewellery and putting them into the bag before going to the beach, as no other car was touched among the hundreds parked.

CCTV camera installed in the area has not recorded the theft as a billboard erected near the parking site came in between the camera and car.

Panambur police have registered the case.

Foolish act of people to keep Rs 11,00,000/- Jewellery. This is bound to happen when robbers are released on bail. All are hand in hand, the full system. If you get them, give them such treatment they should forget who they are, they should have lost memory.

Everybody knows vehicle is not safe to keep gold ornaments.
At least to be hidden beneath the seat.
Do not do anything in front of strangers.
People are watching for the easy prey.
Due to price rise during congress regime from sixty years..people do not have food to eat.
When wild animals entering city for the food why not people indulge in such acts.
