Puttur: Collision of motor bikes causes death of one

Puttur, Jun 9: A youth was killed and another suffered grievous injuries, after two motor bikes collided with each other at Balya on Uppinangady-Subrahmanya state highway on Monday June 8 evening.

Vinod (25), son of Venkappa Gowda, a resident of Sankesh in Shishila, Beltangady taluk, lost his life in this accident. Mahesh from Kundapur, who was riding the other motor bike, sustained critical injuries. Mahesh stands admitted into a hospital in Mangaluru.

Vinod worked for a concern operating JCBs. It is said that he was trying to overtake a vehicle when his two-wheeler got involved with the above accident. Vinod had suffered serious injuries in the accident, and passed away while being shifted to a hospital in Puttur.

It is gathered that Mahesh works for Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project. Kadaba police have registered a case on the basis of complaint filed by some locals.
