Puttur, Jun 10: Dharnappa Gowda (48), who was working as the conductor of a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus which did trips between Panaje and Puttur, lost his life on Tuesday June 9. After he lost his balance, Gowda had fallen to the road from the moving bus, after which he suffered serious injuries and died. The incident occurred at Uppalige in the taluk.
It is said that the conductor was standing near the door when the tragedy occurred. After he fell and was grievously injured, Gowda was taken to the government hospital in the town. After first aid, he was taken to Mangaluru, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Dharnappa was serving the local unit of KSRTC since the last 19 years. He is survived by wife and a daughter. He was a native of Mangalapadavu near Vittal. A report about this accident stands filed in the rural police station here.
