Mangaluru, Jun 10: Kalakul, Konkani’s lone theatre repertory promoted by mandd sobhann is inviting applications from Konkani speaking boys and girls aged between 15 and 35 years who are interested in Konkani theater.

Applications are available at Kalaangann, Shakthinagar in Mangaluru.

Selection will be held on Sunday, June 14 at 10 am at Kalaangann.

Selected artists will get Rs 2500 stipend per month. In addition to the stipend an honorarium will be paid per show. Hostel facility is also available. Repertory is functioning daily from Monday to Friday from 6 pm to 8 30 pm.

Kalakul has so far produced 17 plays and 7 short plays. Total 151 shows have been presented in various places including Dubai and Doha Qatar.

34 artists have completed their courses in last 4 years. Professional training is given to the artists including acting, set designing, lighting, makeup, script etc.

From this year additional training will be given in facing the camera. The course will be helpful for a career in theatre, television and films.

Christopher Dsouza, a graduate from Neenasam and Arun Raj Rodrigues the playwright are chief trainer and administrator respectively.
