Employee accuses employer of cheating him, other staff

Mangaluru, Jun 11: A person named Abubakker Siddique has filed complaint in Kadri police station here, alleging that a person named Lakshmi Kanth, who founded a company named BillMail ID (India) had defrauded him to the tune of Rs 12 lac.He has said that other employees of the firm have also been cheated like him.

Siddque said that he had joined the said company, which functions in Raja Complex, Bikarnakatte in the city, in 2013. He had been offered a salary of Rs 20,000 per month. Lakshmi Kanth, who promoted the company, approached Siddique, saying that additional funds were needed to be invested to achieve overall progress of the company.

'Lakshmi Kanth arranged for raising loans from financial institutions and banks in my name. He promised to repay monthly installments and interest on the loans as and when due. In this way, Rs 11 lac was raised from different institutions, but not even a single monthly installment was remitted. I have not been paid any salary for five months. After cheating me to the extent of Rs 12 lac, Lakshmi Kanth has gone missing. Like me, about 20 other employees of the company also have been cheated,' he claimed in the complaint.

Kadri police have registered a case and begun investigation into the allegation.
