Lobo draws plan to improve performance at Balmatta Women’s PU College

Mangaluru, Jun 11: A progress review meeting of Balmatta Government Women’s PU College was held by the development committee of the College on Thursday June 11.

MLA J R Lobo who presided over the meeting scrutinized the academic results of last year. He suggested that the principal prepare guidelines and ensure better results in the next year.

He asked for a meeting of the parents and teachers to be held twice a year and suggested that cleanliness drives be held on the college campus once a month without fail. Lobo said that he will be releasing Rs 2 lac from the MLA’s funds to construct toilets in the college.

The principal said that Rs 4 lac will be collected through display of advertisement sign boards and another Rs 5 lac will be collected from students at the rate of Rs 900 each towards the expenses of the college and salary of the lecturers. Lobo sought the preparation of a simplified budget for this.

The principal said that the teachers find it difficult to continue with studies due to disturbance from bus horns on nearby roads and requested an alternate arrangement. The MLA promised to take suitable action.

Development committee members Thejomaya, corporator Vinay Raj, Premchand, and principal Joseph were present at the meeting.
