M'luru: MLC Ivan visits admission centres for polytechnic courses

Mangaluru, June 11: MLC Ivan D' Souza visited the centre for admission to Polytechnic courses in Mangaluru and held discussions with state director of technology and minister of higher education R V Deshpande and requested for an additional day for submission of documents of applicants for technical courses as per the requests from the students.

The director has advised the centres accordingly in this regard.

Ivan D' Souza also said that the issue of income and caste certificates were delayed due to election duties and suggested the deputy commissioner to issue those on priority basis.

“More than 65,000 students have submitted applications throughout the state for technical education and 60,000 seats are available”, he said. Meanwhile similar directions were issued regarding applicants for engineering degree courses. He expressed satisfaction with the way the work was conducted in the centre.

Zilla panchayat member Melvin D' Souza, Pravin Chandra Alva, social activist Rudy Rodrigues and others were present.
