'Vastra Bhagya' to be added now to list of existing Bhagyas

Bengaluru, Jun 12: 'Bhagya' in Kannada means good fortune or prosperity. The present state government has already come out with a series of 'Bhagya' schemes including Anna Bhagya, Ksheerabhagya, Shaadibhagya etc. From the next financial year, 'Vastra Bhagya (boon of clothes)' is proposed to added to this list.

Under this scheme, women members of below poverty line (BPL) families in the state are proposed to be gifted with saris and blouses, while the men and male children will get dhotis, shalya (piece of cloth for covering upper body), and shirts during important festivals. 'Proposal for 'Vastra Bhagya' scheme is being prepared. We want to introduce this scheme with effect from the year 2016-17', said textiles minister, Baburao Chinchanasur. He was speaking to media persons at Vidhan Soudha on Thursday June 11.

Chinchanasur explained that during the previous regime headed by BJP, a programme to distribute saris to women had been formulated. He said that this has been modified to include blouse along with saris for women, and dhotis, Shalyas and shirts to male members of the families. He added that these clothes are likely to be provided to BPL families during three or four important festivals every year.

'Most of the population in the state belong to either Hindu, Muslim, or Catholic community. Discussions are on about the prospects of providing clothes to them on important festivals in their respective religions,' he explained. He said that the state has 1.25 power looms and 75,000 hand looms, and that the clothes needed for running the above scheme would be bought from weavers cooperative societies directly.

    He will give all Bhagyas from hard working peoples tax and he will enjoy Nidde bhagya for himself. Because of his Bhagyas sc/st people don't have to work. Its hard to find labours.

    I am not too happy with these schemes. I believe in teaching fishing rather than providing fish. These schemes though good for few families where earning family members are ill or father is a drunkard and wife alone has to care for children and household expenses. These schemes are pushing the BPL card holders to be lazy. Instead open job opportunities by creating factories etc.

    Good move by the present government to implement so many Bhagyas.But at the cost of tax payers money just for vote bank.One fine morning with all these Bhagyas we all become Nirbhagya,that will be our Dhourbhagya.That what all we have to wait/watch and see.People are ready to accept whatever the Bhagyas as long as they are getting at free of cost regardless of political parties affiliation.Now you see for example:- Present government is distributing rice at free of cost to BPL ration card holders at the cost of Tax payers money and APL card holders.Are the APL card holders not belonging to Karnataka? Have they migrated from other state?When migrants people from other states are getting rice at free of cost,why can't APL card holders?Why discrimination in that?.Do you think that whatever the rice getting from government at free of cost,will be properly consumed by the beneficiaries?.No,they will sell it to third party for some paltry amount and enjoy in bars or spend in some other unwanted activities.That means government wants them to be anti-national,lazy.With this Bhagyas,do you think that they will be active?.No they become more lazy,do nothing and become fit for nothing.There should be some logic when government intend to extend some benefits to the people of the state.Don't do the things which is harmful like Mohammed Bin Tuglak rule.Crazy people.At any cost people want to stick to their hot seat,which they have been enjoying.They think that that is their birth right.Government is making the people unproductive,unworthy,useless,lazy by implementing so called unwanted Bhagyas and creating a room for becoming miscreants/anti-social elements.Jago government,Jago.Spend the money constructively.Don't go after name and fame and spoil the people.

    Good scheme but Indian Government is not giving them job but making Indian public lazy, Anna Bhagya, shadi bhagya and now Vastra Bhagya. In Vastra Bhagya saris and blouses for ladies, while the men and male children will get dhotis, shalya but not Chadi people Chaddi option is there.

    If wants to appraise others just write 'Nikkah Bhagya' instead.
