Mangaluru, Jun 12: Karnataka Christian Educational Society(KACES) in collaboration with Mangalore Special Economic Zone, Mangalore Senior Citizens Association and Aruna Nursery will be organizing 'Hasiru Mangaluru Abhiyaana'-'Green Mangaluru Campaign' on Saturday June 13 at Bishop Jathanna auditorium, KTC Balmatta. This was revealed at a press meet here by Dr F Anil Kumar, treasurer of KACES on Friday June 12.
Dr Kumar said, "Manohar Prasad, chief executive of Udayavani, Mangaluru bureau will inaugurate the programme, Dinesh Nayak, MSEZ will deliver the key note address and Dr Honey Cabral, principal of Karnataka Theological College will preside at the campaign.
1600 saplings collected from various places will be distributed free of cost at the campaign.
"The Hasiru Managaluru Abhiyaana is a small effort on our part towards inspiring people to commit themselves to this cause. It also aims at creating awareness on deforestation and climatic change in the environment due to deforestation.
PC James, Ramesh Rao, Sandeep Theophil were present at the meet.
