Gang robs tipper owner moving on bike - an accused arrested

Bantwal, Jun 13: A complaint lodged in Vittal police station in the taluk claims that the son of a tipper truck owner, who was moving on a motor bike, was waylaid by a gang of two which came in car and motor bike, and fled after robbing cash in his possession. The incident had reportedly occurred at Badittadka near Kanyana here on the night of Wednesday.

D K Mustafa (24), son of tipper owner, D K Abbas, resident of Kanattadka in Vittal Casba village, who was assaulted in this incident, is being treated at Vittal community health centre.

Mustafa was going in his motor bike to Bayar in Kerala from his home on Wednesday night, when miscreants who came in a car and motor bike from the direction of Kerala, intercepted him near Bandittadka mosque near Kanyaya, it is said. Apart from attacking Mustafa with stones, the gang robbed four lac rupees he was in possession of at that time, Mustafa said in his complaint.

The attackers have been identified as Siddique (30) from Muguli in Karopady village, and his relative, Siddique (32). One of the accused, Siddique from Muguli, has been arrested. Investigation is continuing under the directions of local circle inspector, Belliappa.
