Puttur: Woman dies of suspected dengue

Puttur, Jun 14: Geetha Naayka (45) resident of Padavannur village expired due to suspected dengue in a hospital in Mangaluru on June 13.

From the past one week she was suffering of high fever and she has left behind husband and two daughters.

When asked about the particular incident with the health department of Puttur taluk they said in case of death in government hospital the cause of death could be given. In case of death in private hospital though it may be suspected of dangue but cause of death cannot be given at this stage. Such helpless reply was given by the taluk health officials.

In Badagannur gram panchayath constituency many people are suffering from fever and have been admitted to hospital. In the past when chikun gunya was seen, the Puttur health department had shown irresponsibility and they are continuing the same now.
