Mangaluru, Jun 15: A woman from Makki in Shirtady village near Moodbidri went missing under mysterious circumstances, after leaving home to visit fair price shop at Karkala.
Zohra (22), who lives with her husband in a foreign country, had recently come to her native place for a visit. Her husband belongs to Banglegudde in Karkala.
On Friday afternoon, Zohra had left home in Makki with her son to buy ration items from Karkala. In the evening, she had come back to Shirtady. She reportedly sent the food items she had bought with her son to her home in an auto rickshaw, telling him that she would return home later. She remains untraced since then.
It is gathered that before leaving for Karkala, she had pledged her golden ring in a bank at Shirtady and raised a loan of Rs 2,400 against it. On the basis of a missing complaint filed by the sister of the lady, police personnel of the local station have registered a case, and begun investigation.
