Mangaluru: Hephsiba Korlapati hands over charge to MCC joint commissioner

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Jun 16: Outgoing commissioner of Mangaluru City Corporation, Hephsiba Rani Korlapati, handed over charge to joint commissioner in the city corporation, Gokuldas Nayak, on the night of Monday June 15.

Korlapati, who has been transferred as the chief executive officer of Vijayapura zilla panchayat within six months of assuming charge here, had earned popularity among the people for being efficient administrator and sticking to rules. In spite of pressure brought on her by corporators and others, she had refused to budge, and violate rules in the administration. She had taken over charge of this office on December 31, 2014.

Although at the time of her transfer, Shivamogga city corporation, Ravi, had been named as her successor, sources said he will not be coming as the commissioner of the city corporation here.

Our elected representatives have to learn to behave. They are not supposed to intrude when she is in meetings. And also she is qualified administrator. These corporators probably cannot even dream of acquiring such qualification and discipline.Any way these corporators don't own the corporation of Mangalore. They are public servants.
