Tomar withdraws bail plea

New Delhi, June 16 (IANS): Former Delhi law minister Jitender Singh Tomar on Tuesday withdrew his bail plea in an alleged fake degree case.

Additional Sessions Judge Vinod Kumar Yadav allowed Tomar to withdraw his bail plea and granted him liberty to file a fresh application in the concerned court.

Tomar's counsel Harshit Jain requested the court to allow him to withdraw the application saying that he will file a fresh bail application before the concerned magistrate where the Tomar will be produced after expiry of his four days police custody.

A magisterial court on Monday remanded Tomar to four days police custody.

Police did not oppose Tomar's plea.

"The application seeking grant of bail filed on the behalf of applicant (Tomar) is dismissed as withdrawn with the liberty to file afresh," the court said.

Delhi Police arrested Tomar on last Tuesday and slapped a case of cheating, forgery and conspiracy against him.
