Kasargod: CPCRI employee hangs himself

Kasargod, Jun 16: An employee of Central Plantation Crops Research Institute (CPCRI) here chose to commit suicide by hanging himself at the quarters allotted to him in the town.

The deceased has been identified as Ramachandra (51), working as attender in CPCRI office here.

Ramachandra was from Hosdurg. He used to stay with family in the residential quarters located near Chowki here. He had visited his hometown with wife and children a week back. He returned on Sunday afternoon. However, he never moved out thereafter till Monday morning.

Growing worried at this fact, a family living close by peeped into the window of Ramachandra's house, and found him hanging from a ceiling fan. Policemen from the station here visited the spot and conducted inquest and completed other procedures.

Two letters said to have been written by Ramachandra were recovered by the policemen. It is said that one of the letters was addressed to his wife, while the other was for his office. The polciemen however, refused to divulge contents of these two letters.

Preliminary inquiries revealed that Ramachandra was of late facing financial crisis. A case of unnatural death was registered in the town police station here.
