Mangaluru: Injured dolphin washes ashore at Hosabettu

Mangaluru, Jun 17: An injured baby dolphin was washed ashore at Hosabettu near Suratkal here on the morning of Wednesday June 17.

The belly of the dolphin had turned red and red spots were also noticed.

The locals who spotted the dolphin came to its rescue and provided first aid themselves, sources said.

It is said that the dolphin may have been injured either after hitting a boat or because of a change in the nature of water. As no official or veterinary doctor was called to the spot, authentic information about the dolphin's health condition was not available.

The dolphin was later released into the sea.
