Jubilee celebrations of Bro T K George held at Mulki

Mangaluru, June 17: "Brother T K George thinks 24 hours about Jesus. He also presents Jesus in a very meaningful way to the masses. For the last 25 years thousands of people have been touched by his preaching." said Dr Robert Miranda, Bishop Of Gulbarga. He was speaking at the Jubille Celebration function of Taragan Kuriakose George fondly known as Bro T K George who has surrendered himself for the service of the Lord, preaching his gospel for the last 25 years.

This was also the occasion of diamond jubilee of his birthday. Fr Franklin DSouza, secretary of CBCI commission for youth also Director of Yesu Sparsha Team had organised this unique celebration on 13th and 14th at Divine Call Centre, Mulki. A full day retreat was held on Saturday, June 13 that followed by the public honour to Br T K George on Sunday, June 14.






























Bro george was born on September 8, 1955 at Hubballi as the son of late T K Varghese and late Baby Mary.He lost his mother at the age of 3 and was brought up by his step mother Tresiamma. After his schooling he became a shining star in sandlewood by acting in several hit movies of Kannada like Ranadheera, Ramachari, Sangama, Benki, Darani Mandala, Masanada Hu etc. As he had to face several negative twists in his personal life, he was depressed for some time.

Bro George who Lost interest in life went to Divine Retreat Centre, Potta, Kerala for a retreat on May 8, 1990. That was a turning point in his life. From that day onwards he has committed himself for preaching Word of God. Till now he lives in a rented house in Davanagere. Yet he has traveled to 25 countries to preach retreats. He is known to preach Word of God with his typical hilarious actions and words that makes people to listen to him for hours together.

The public honour programme started with an adoration at 9 am. That followed by the concelebration of Holy Eucharist by Bishop Robert along with 12 priests. After the mass. Fr. Franklin D’Souza read the Papal blessing and message from Apostolic Nuncio. A short documentary prepared by by Musician Cajetan Dais, Bengaluru was presented.

Alwyn D’Souza read the honouring message. Bishop Robert along with with priests and religious felicitated Bro T K George with shawl and Mysore Peta. His brother T V Davis and his cousin Fr Stephen honoured him on be half of their family.

Speaking on the occasion Br T K George said that he did not experience the love of a mother as he lost her at his age of 3. But when he went to divine retreat centre, Potta he had the first experience of Jesus which was much more superior than the love of a mother. When he was a star in sandlewood he went in search of God everywhere but did not find him. Though he was a Catholic he did not know that the word of God is a very powerful tool for everything.

"I felt the call of Jesus at Potta retreat centre and from that day onwards I did not look back. God has given me everything in life. I do not worry what to eat or what to wear. Always the Lord has provided me everything that I need." he said.

A Souvenir, new DVD Tirugi Nodidaaga, New Mp3 Vandane Yesuve and Dairy for 2016 -2018 were released during the occasion. Rajesh Mascarenhas and Bro William D'Souza coordinated the jubilee programme and Fr Roman Pinto Compeered. Manjula Joy gave a welcomed address. Fr Franklin D’Souza gave vote of thanks. Pais Caterers served food to all the invitees. 400 prayer group leaders from all over took part in this historic event.
