Mumbai, Jun 18: Actor Saif Ali Khan, was seen walking into the portals of a Mumbai court in relation to the 2012 hotel brawl case that was registered against him for allegedly assaulting an NRI businessman Iqbal Mir Sharma.

The Court has referred both parties to a mediation centre to sort out their differences. The presiding judge said, “The procecution has referred the matter for mediation and the accused has no problem with the mediation. So, the matter is referred to the mediation centre attached to Esplanade court.” Saif's lawyer told media persons, "It is a compoundable aspect under section 325, mediation is permissible with the permission of the court. That is why the court suggested it. Saif is ready, the Public Prosecutor has suggested the same to Iqbal."

It had been reported that Saif was having dinner with his wife Kareena Kapoor and friends, Malaika Arora, Amrita Arora and her husband Shakeel Ladhak at Mumbai's Taj Hotel in February of 2012, when he got into a scuffle of sorts with Sharma. Both the parties have quite a different story to tell. Sharma alleges that Saif had attacked him, when he had requested that their dinner group lower their voices so as to not disturb the other guests. Saif alleges that Sharma used bad language in relation to the ladies present in his company and thereby provoked him to take violent action.

Saif will soon be seen gracing theatre screens in his next venture Phantom, his opposite Race co-star Katrina Kaif.
