Minor girl gangraped in Bengaluru; three arrested

Bengaluru, Jun 18 (PTI): A 15-year-old girl was gang-raped by three youths, including an acquaintance of her, at Ragigudda here, police said today.

Upon a complaint from the girl, the trio, in the age group of 19 to 23, was arrested within hours of the incident yesterday, Additional Commissioner of Police C H Pratap Reddy said.

The incident came to light after the victim lodged a complaint in JP Nagar police station alleging she was taken away by an acquainted person, with two of his associates, to an underconstruction building, and sexually abused and gang-raped, he said.

The incident took place between 6.30-8 pm yesterday, he added.

Reddy said the police is also probing the possibility of love angle as one of the culprits was acquainted to her.

The accused have been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, he added.

    congrats Kannadigas, slowly your state is turning into BIMARU states- even bihar/UP jungle raj is slightly better, because they are poverty stricken and uneducated lot!... only thing that is not happening like theirs is, "burning a journalist" rest everything happens, kids getting raped, minors raped, murder attempts, school girls killed! absolute shame!

    what bangakore needs is a person like BALASAHEB!... such a busy city mumbai, but crimes on girls (mnot marital or domestic violence) is very very less! there was fear of shivasena! they simply pick the guy who did it and deal spot justice!

    One thing is sure, you have not done any good work to others or society!. Ďo you remember during your BJP government rule, one MLA raped his friends wife, another raped a nurse, another drove his wife to suicide and the Kal Nayak's wife died under mysterious circumstances drowning in a 2 feet water filled tank!. These were all instances of direct involvement of people in power! !!.

    Disgusting!! Seems like there is no end to this type of heinous crimes in India under the law which bows to Money power.
    As a citizen of India and agreeing with Mr. Ismail, I would ask Govt to amend the law similar to law followed in Middle East against rape - If proved, death penalty. At least cause of the strict law, this kind of crimes might come under control.

    Is it Govt's duty to protect girls from getting raped????? Isn't it our duty to protect girls of our society??? Thinking in your view, Congress supporters can assume that BJP followers are behind this rape to degrade Congress!! Isn't it??     In India any kind of draconian law can't deter atrocities against women and particularly about Rape....Death for rape is only option left like Gulf countries doing.Therefore,Govt need to review existing law against rape and if situation warrants I think Death penalty could control such heinous crime.Mean time it is high time to educate every male child in the family about RAPE & its consequences in the life.

    Girls are happy everywhere in the world except perhaps in India where they are discriminated and looked upon as sex objects.There is reported rape every 4 minutes in India. Unreported may be every 4 seconds. No doubt our country will be soon called as "Rapistan".
