Bhatkal, Jun 19: In an accident which occurred near Mysore Cafe in the town on Thursday June 18 afternoon, a school bus hit several vehicles. In this accident, a motor bike rider was killed.

The ill-fated motor bike rider was Saifulla Mohiuddin Kojapur (62), resident of Magdoom Colony here. He was sitting on his motor bike that had been parked on the mud road near Mysore Cafe, when a school bus moving towards circle from the direction of the port hit him. Due to the force of the collision, the bike was pushed hard to some distance, and hit another motor bike. The bus came to a halt after brushing a Maruti Omni and Maruti 800 cars ahead, and then hitting an electric pole and a protective wall on the opposite side.

Because of the friction, the petrol tank of the motor bike leaked, and the bike was burnt down. The locals, expressing anger at this accident, held irresponsibility of the bus driver as solely responsible for this accident.

The accident would have claimed more lives, if the road had a large number of road users as usual. Luckily, there were no other persons except the bike rider at the time the school bus entered the road. The bus conductor suffered minor injuries, and he was hospitalized. A case was registered in the local police station.
